Funded through FEMA and in partnership with the U.S. Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery, this project will create resilient, future-ready educational spaces – from innovative classrooms to gyms designed as hurricane shelters – giving our team the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the community.   POSITION SUMMARY: The Electrical Engineer’s main responsibility will be to follow the design development, including design verification and procurement of materials and equipment for the project. This position is based in St. Thomas, USVI. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor design developmentReview the Designer’s production, in particular the compliance with codes, standards, regulations, laws, etc.Propose value engineering to reduce costs and/or planningLead functional reviews with all necessary partiesLead Interface reviews with Civil (walls/floors/ceiling, penetrations, rises, etc.) and MechanicalManage design deliverables progress status and follow-up the design validation processObtain quantity take-offPrepare consistent batch of tender documents for purchasing and review quotes receivedTechnical and financial analysis of quotations and negotiations with suppliers & manufacturersConduct the approvals of materials and equipment with consultantFollow the manufacturing process and delivery of goods in due time QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringAt least 5 years of experience, working in design development (construction drawings) and review, as well as experience in construction activitiesExpertise of Electrical and low voltage installationsKnowledge of British Standards is a plus   Americaribe LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer
